The Role:
In the role of Senior Compliance Officer at Assuria Levensverzekering (Cur), you will play a crucial part by ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. You will oversee the creation, execution, and upkeep of comprehensive compliance programs, policies, and procedures designed to minimize risk and ensure conformity with industry standards. This position requires a proactive leader with a strong background in compliance, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep commitment to ethical practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stay updated on relevant rules and guidelines by the regulator affecting the life insurance industry and ensure company practices comply with these standards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s compliance program, including policies and procedures, and deliver training programs to educate employees on compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Interpret and apply regulatory changes to the company’s operations and policies.
  • Conduct regular reviews and risk assessments to identify compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor company activities to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and other relevant laws.
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to management and regulatory bodies.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance incidents and breaches, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures.
  • Provide expert advice to management and staff on compliance-related matters.
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies and respond to inquiries or investigations.
  • Maintain records of compliance activities and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the compliance program and reduce risk.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in law or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Compliance) are preferred.

    Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in compliance within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of local regulator guidelines and requirements affecting the life insurance sector.
